Springvale, ME – Great Bay Services (GBS) is proud to announce the relocation of its Maine programs to Springvale, marking an important milestone in the nonprofit organization’s commitment to increasing community access, employment opportunities, independent living, and connection.
The move represents a defining moment for GBS and will provide increased opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism to live fulfilling and meaningful lives as valued members of their community.
“This move reflects our commitment to ensuring our members have meaningful opportunities to participate, work, and live in the community of their choosing,” said Jon Stimmell, GBS Executive Director.
The program’s new location in the Anderson Learning Center places GBS alongside several organizations and businesses with which it has established meaningful connections over the years. The Southern Maine Agency on Aging has been a longtime collaborator with Great Bay Services, and the two organizations look forward to the possibilities to come as newfound neighbors. Other organizations, like Grahamtastic Connection, Meeting Grounds Cafe, Nasson Community Center, Springvale Public Library, and Springvale First Baptist Church, have been wonderful community partners of Great Bay Services, serving as volunteer sites and welcoming hosts.
“Our new neighbors are organizations we know, value, and have worked alongside for many years,” said Stimmell. “Being closer together creates opportunities to take those collaborations even further. We’re excited about what we can accomplish together and how those relationships can benefit the individuals and communities we serve.”
To celebrate the relocation, Great Bay Services and the Sanford-Springvale Chamber of Commerce will host a Ribbon Cutting & Open House on October 15th at the new GBS location: 21 Bradeen St., Suite 201 and 203, Springvale, Maine. Members, families, staff, community partners, and neighbors are invited to attend, tour the new space, meet the GBS team, and celebrate this significant moment for the organization.
