Great Bay Services Receives $264,000 in CDS Funding from Senator Collins to Improve Community Access for Adults with Disabilities
February 6, 2026 – Great Bay Services is grateful to officially announce the approval of $264,000 in federal Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) to support the purchase of accessible vehicles and related expenses for their Maine programs.
“Transportation has presented a major barrier to community access for our members, and especially those in Maine,” shared Jon Stimmell, Great Bay Services Executive Director. “This initiative would not have been possible without the support of Senator Collins and her dedicated staff.”
Stimmell also highlighted the work of Pamela Buck, Senator Collins State Office Representative. “Pam has been instrumental through her dedication and advocacy for the folks we serve.”
Great Bay Services is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism in southern ME and seacoast NH.
They currently serve 165 individuals in Maine, providing case management, community day program, employment support, and in-home support services to York and Cumberland counties. This significant CDS funding impacts their members, families and guardians, staff, and the greater community.
Vehicles are on the horizon for Great Bay Services, thanks to Senator Collins, and the nonprofit team is dedicated to driving this transportation project forward to provide its members with vital community access and resources.
