Rachel Carson national Wildlife RefugeGreat Bay Services adult partners in Maine have been lending a hand with trail maintenance at Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge. From building kiosks to painting fences and filling potholes, our crew has put in wonderful work to make sure the Rachel Carson trails are ready for the busy season!
We enjoy the beautiful, accessible trails throughout the year, and are happy to give back to a great group. Rachel Carson is more than a volunteer site. They have become a true community partner. |
duck house buildIn collaboration with the Sanford Regional Technical Center, Three Rivers Land Trust, and Moon Run Farm, we built duck and bat houses for our local wildlife.
From building to presenting to the Sanford City Council and installing these houses in the community, we had a blast with this project. It was a true team effort and we can't thank our collaborators enough! |
Toys for totsThis year, we took on three towns for Toys for Tots: Wells, Sanford, and Springvale. From November 1st to December 13th of 2024 we collected a total of 42 boxes and 1,925 toys!
A huge thank you to Toys for Tots for allowing Great Bay Services to volunteer with their amazing organization for another season. |

In 2023, Scott Butler and a group of his peers went to the state house in Augusta, Maine. When there, he was presented a congratulatory speech and an award for becoming the 2023 Maine Volunteer of the Year by the Maine state governor. This is an amazing accomplishment and we would like to highlight some of Mr. Butler's volunteer acts that earned him this honor. Scott volunteers at the York County Shelter Programs food pantry, Meals on Wheels, Curtis Lake Church, Grammy Rose Dog Rescue & Sanctuary, Toys For Tots, local cemeteries, and GBS events.

With Scott's passion for volunteering and helping his community, it's no surprise that he was awarded with this honor. Congratulations to Scott and the other award winners!
